Nuclear Project Award

MHA-Stopford has further established their reputation within the nuclear sector with the award of a highly confidential turnkey process control project adopting the Siemens DCS solution, the Siemens PCS7. The award of this prestigious and highly confidential contract comes after the successful completion of two previous projects for the same client.

The project involves the undertaking of the complete turnkey responsibility for the DCS process controls and the SIL systems associated with the process.

Due to the nature and intricacies of the process, we have adopted the Siemens PCS7 solution for the project.

We worked closely with the client throughout the initial front end engineering design stages of the project conception. This close working relationship with the engineers and scientists to determine the process and control requirements culminated in the development of a process Functional Design Specification (FDS) and a Safety Requirements Specification (SRS).

The complete system will be the subject of full SIL verification and validation of all Safety Instrumented Functions and detailed factory acceptance tests before final sign off and delivery to the client.
